Daughter of well-known country duo “Grant & Forsyth” and granddaughter of the legendary Sir Bruce Forsyth, it is no surprise that 20 year old Sophie Purdie is now embarking on a career of her own.

From the moment she was born, Sophie had no choice but to go on the road with her parents who tour extensively all over the world. She grew up behind the scenes and before she knew it she had caught ‘the bug’.

It all started one evening when Sophie was just 16, her father lost his voice and couldn’t go on stage. Knowing all of their songs and the show inside out and back to front, the only solution was for Sophie to take his place and so she was thrust on stage for her first public performance. That was it for Sophie, at that moment her future had been decided. Sophie went on to perform with her parents all over the Netherlands and has sung at some of the most prestigious venues in Europe.

Sophie Is now back in the UK and has been spending her days in the studio focusing on her own material (when she’s not waitressing!). Sophie’s music is true and honest and is based around tales of people’s experiences whist growing up.

Most recently she has been seen all over the national press and television side by side with her grandfather, helping him promote his latest album on which she had the pleasure of doing a duet. They sang Charlie Chaplin’s classic ‘Smile’ which has captured the heart of the nation.
